Coraline Film - Critque

Coraline was good, it covers a moral that you should be happy with what you have. For example, you should be happy with your family. She faces her mom, and dad in the film, trying to determine which one is better, it turned out that what she thought was bad, was good and vise versa. The main purpose of the film was to emotionally scar little children, and teach a lesson while doing it! Kids would go into the theaters expecting a musical like "the Nightmare Before Christmas" but what they get is a movie teaching you to not trust you parents, and make you think that they will turn into giant spider made out of sewing needles.
The major themes of the movie would be a kid that wants to be loved. So she goes off and practically gets adopted by another family, kind of like how a cat goes out at night and meets their other family. And ironically, there is a cat in the movie, who is a main character.
The film's quality was superb. The production values of the movie are really good, the models were created nicely, and everything was great, even the music. But, I don't think that a kid would really like the movie.
So, in summary the movie was really good. I loved it, even though I was scarred by it when I was a child, especially the claymation.

Haunted House - Project

One day a few adults went out to build a new neighborhood at a pre-determined spot. When they got to their destination, they found a vacant house, right where they were supposed to start construction. They were trying to check out the land, and make sure the spot was acceptable, so they were shocked to find out someone was already out here, and got there so fast. After much debating, they decided to go inside and check out the interior of the house. So slowly and carefully the adults went into the house... preparing for something to happen... then someone suddenly realized... construction had already begun! bum bum BUM!!!

My inspiration for the style of the setting was actually from the GameCube game "The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess". In the game you would play as the traditional character, Link and transverse between two worlds: the normal world, and the Twilight Realm. I took inspiration from the game and put it into the sky, and dark landscape.

Custom Vehicle - Project

I think that the resolution could be higher or lower for certain parts of the ship, it makes it seem a bit weird with the images clashing. If all the resolutions were the same, they would look better together, and look more natural.

Magazine Concept - Project

The magazine that I made was about Justin Bieber, I used the 3D view to make the magazine... 3D. I added Lil Bub to make the magazine more lively, making Justin Bieber hold him.

Adam's Alphas Logo - Project

I used the a concept from the official ADAM logo, the Wi-Fi symbol. I also made the text out of lines, and the brush tool, not using the text tool. You could use a concept from McDonalds, but use it in a creative new way. You cannot use a concept that looks exactly like the original.

EDIT:
There, I guess there was some pixels left over, and when I uploaded the logos, it created a outline around the final product.

Eddie The Donkey - Project

In this project I had to take three images, and combine them into one. I made the senior designer, and creative director versions of  Eddie the Donkey.
I wish that I used the magnetic lasso tool on my Thor project, because it would have made the process much easier.

Thor: the Dark World Movie Poster - Project

So, Alan Taylor hired me to create a movie poster for "Thor The Dark World" and this is what I came up with. I used pictures of characters from the movie, Thor, Loki, Jane Foster, the Dark Elf King and myself wearing a superman shirt, they go together so nicely! Well, I hope you enjoy it's been boatloads of fun and it tuned out just as I imagined!

Personality Collage - Project

I was assigned to make a collage for my visual design class that is about myself in a certain color. I used green for my color since its my favorite color of course! I chose to use a Green Lantern symbol, being my
favorite superhero, Xbox and a NES controller because I enjoy playing new generation, and old school video games. A pencil for art, headphones for music, but I bet you can't guess why I put the Viera symbol there.

Animals, Initials, Masking, & Textures - Project

Hello, my name is Chris Silvernail, and I have received a project from my visual design teacher where I had to make a animal out of my initials. I chose a lion, my initials being C.N.S you might be able to see the lion through the three letters there, but this is how I made it. The C represents the head, the N being the torso, and the S being the tail if you still can't see it I have the picture prepared for you to the right.
